A Special Fold For Raya

Hello Craft Lovers,

I am back again to share with you the special card fold that I made. Again its for Hari Raya or Eid al-Fitr. This is the second time I am making this card fold. What I like about this fold, is that it reminds me of one of my childhood games.

Pretty Card Fold

This card fold needs some extra measuring and I have my Ultimate Crafter's Companion board to thank for to get the right scoring and that makes it so much easier to fold. I also added some embossing and stamping with embossing folder to make this card fold unique. It took me some time to complete, with all the added touch included but I am satisfied with the completed project.

Stamping on embossing folder

Instead of cream or white, this time I used a black card as the base card to highlight the yellow and green. Only at the center I used a piece of pattern paper to give a little pattern border for my sentiment.

Different card fold

Sorry I am in a rush at the moment, so can't include any tutorials for this card fold. But will share a tutorial in future posts.

The sky has gone dark, I better go and take the laundry in. Until then Craft With Love.

Green Oh Green

Happy Saturday Craft Lovers,

The weekend is here again. How are all of you craft lover's getting on? What's on your agenda for this week? Any new craft projects?

Handmade Rice Pouch

I don't think so I have any on my mind right now. Just need to share all the cards I have made for the past two days. Above is the second Raya card that I made. Again the concept is the same as the first Raya card that I shared yesterday in Let's Go Green.  But for this second card, I didn't used any light green card. Instead I added more red to it, to add to the celebration mood.

Stamp Flowers

For my next post I will share a different card fold. Until then, don't forget to Craft With Love.

Let's Go Green

Hello Craft Lovers,

Have been busy making cards for the past two days. Made one card for Papa since Father's Day is just a couple of days away and I also made 5 Hari Raya cards for family and friends. Since Raya or Eid al-Fitr as it is known around the world is just a week away, I don't think I can post the cards. It will not reach on time. So have to give it by hand when I meet all of them.

Hari Raya Handmade Cards

For this Raya card above, I used a green card for base. I blend the light green and cream card as a background for my red flowers. I used a doily border punch for the cream coloured card and I embossed the light green card with a leafy embossing folder.

Red Stamp Paper Flowers

The red flowers are stamped and die cut using my Spellbinders Sapphire. The white doily resembles a plate or saucer with two ketupats on it.  The ketupat (a type of rice dumpling) is made from rice, packed inside a diamond shape case/pouch  that is of woven coconut leaf. But I made it out of green and yellow colour paper, definitely without any rice inside.

Paper Ketupat

I better keep this post short and sweet, since I have a few more other cards to share with all of you.

Warm Wishes For The Weekend

Hello Craft Lovers,

I think every craft lover would agree that no matter how busy we are, we would always find some time to sit at the craft table and craft away. Besides there is always a reason to craft...birthday cards, anniversary gifts, get well soon wishes and the list goes on.

Fishing Theme Handmade Card

Well there was really no special reason for me to craft yesterday but I decided to make a card out of a colouring page that I completed. The girl looks adorable, relaxing and fishing while her cat excitedly waits for her to catch a fish. Being a cat lover, I seem to get attracted to anything that have cats in it.

I used three coloured cards, cream purple and pink to blend with the girl's clothes and hat. I used my Spellbinder's Sapphire to cut out the circles for my sentiment and I used a 'Warm Wishes' Stamp that suits the fishing theme. Its always fun to go fishing in Summer, isn't it. But in Malaysia you can be fishing all year round with the beautiful sunny weather. Except when it rains heavily then definitely you would want to stay away from the river banks.

Cute Handmade card

I also used some gold border stickers to highlight the colouring page and the sentiment. As well as some purple embellishment. Looks like I have to brush up more on my colouring. Have not been colouring for some time. Maybe I would include more colouring pages in my future projects.

Until then, happy crafting everyone and remember to always Craft With Love.

A Combination Of Love

Good Morning Craft Lovers,

Had a lovely crafting weekend. Completed a few projects with a blend of different techniques. Got a crafter's block somewhere in between though but with the help of my lovely Godmama (she is also a craft lover) manage to break that 'block' and completed a project within minutes.

A Combination Of Love

In this article I am sharing with all of you a simple 'Best Wishes' card that I made. Its not my favourite pastel blend of colours but the idea of combining red, green and yellow popped up with a garden theme in mind. Green represents grass and leaves, Red for flowers while Yellow reminds me of some sort of happy mood that Mr Sun brings when he shines brightly in the garden.

For this card project, I combined stamping, die cutting, and embossing to go with a border card. As usual with a floral theme. I choose a leafy embossing folder and a 6 petals die cut flower.

die, embossing and stamping

When there is free time on hand, I love to create cards and keep them in my 'Card Tin'... so when there is a need to send someone a card, I don't have to crack my head and rush to make a card. But then again, I am always a last minute crafter (usually that's when great ideas rush in)... ends up my 'Card Tin' is often empty. Anyway I am trying to kick that bad habit far far away. Wish me luck.

Until then...Craft With Love

Exploding Box For A Surprise

Happy Saturday Craft Lovers

Such a lovely day. Mr Sun is out on full force so its a bit too hot to be outside at the moment. That is why I am happily typing away.

I made this Exploding Box earlier which I think is suitable for little surprises. Thought of putting some mini chocolates and giving it to my darling Nanny. She is 89 this year and loves to eat chocolates.

Exploding Box For A Surprise

Anyway I was surfing the internet and came across a few craft challenges and decided to take part in it. Looks like my Exploding Box project suits a few craft challenges. Its actually my first time joining in a craft challenge so I am very excited.

About my project, this is the first time I am doing an exploding box. I chose a pink theme because pink is my favourite colour.

Exploading Box Fold

Where did I learn to do it? From Youtube of course. I love learning new folds from videos rather than reading instructions. I am a lazy lass aren't I...haha

It didn't take long to complete this project. Just some paper matching, measuring and gluing. Then finally making sure it fits with the cover. I am glad it did. I will be sharing an exploding box fold tutorial in one of my future post.

Exploading Box

Until then happy crafting everyone and enjoy the weekend.
